CardPin Terms of Service

Welcome to CardPin (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
CardPin is a map-based social app. You take a photo with the in-app camera, optionally write a short note, and the result — a "card" — is pinned to the map at the location where it was taken. Other people can see and interact with it when they come near that place.
The photos, text and locations you post are fully public. Anyone using the Service may see them. Do not post anything you would not want to be public.
2. Accounts and age
- You need an account with a verified email address. You may also sign in with Apple or Google.
- The minimum age for the Service is 13. You confirm you meet this when you register.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password safe. Contact us at the address below if you believe your account has been compromised.
- Usernames are unique across the Service and are shown as the author of your cards.
3. Your content and the licence you give us
- You keep the copyright in the content you post.
- You grant us the rights needed to display, store, transmit and back up your content in order to operate the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, though completed backups may take some time to cycle out.
- You confirm you have the right to post the content and that it does not infringe anyone's copyright, likeness, privacy or other rights.
- Photos can only be taken with the in-app camera. Importing from the photo library is not possible.
4. What you must not do
You must not:
- Post sexual, violent, graphic, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, abusive or unlawful content
- Post identifiable images of people taken without their consent where doing so could cause them distress
- Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your connection to a person or organisation
- Post advertising, spam or bulk repetitive content
- Use automation, location spoofing or any other means to bypass posting cooldowns, location limits or other technical restrictions
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or to other people's accounts or data
- Use the Service to track, monitor or harass a specific person
5. Reports and enforcement
Every card can be reported. Reports enter a human moderation queue, and a moderator takes one of the following actions:

| Hidden | The card is no longer shown; it can be restored if an appeal succeeds |
| Deleted | The card is removed permanently and cannot be restored |
| Temporary suspension | The author cannot sign in for 1, 7 or 30 days, and their solo cards are hidden for that period; access returns automatically |
| Permanent suspension | The account can no longer sign in; on shared cards the person is shown as "someone" |
Anyone affected receives an in-app notice stating the action, the reason and any duration. Every action leaves a tamper-evident audit record. If you believe an action was wrong, you can appeal using the address below.
6. Posting rules
- After posting a card you enter a cooldown period and cannot post again until it ends. The length is shown before you submit.
- You can withdraw a card within 2 minutes of posting, which resets the cooldown. After that you can still delete it, but the cooldown is not reset.
- You can edit the text for 24 hours after the card becomes public. The photo and location cannot be changed.
- Co-posting (tagging companions, parties) follows the rules explained in the app; everyone involved enters cooldown together.
7. Ending your use of the Service
- You can delete your account at any time in the app. See the account deletion page for what happens.
- We may suspend or terminate your account for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms.
- We may also close accounts if the Service shuts down, with advance notice by email.
8. Disclaimers and limits of liability
- The Service is provided "as is". We work to keep it available but cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Content posted by other people does not represent our views, and we do not vouch for its accuracy.
- Location information shown in the Service is for reference only. Do not rely on it for navigation, emergency response or any safety-critical purpose.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
- Use your own judgement about safety when visiting unfamiliar places. We are not responsible for personal injury or property loss arising from your use of the Service.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms. Significant changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect, and the version and date on this page will be updated. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Disputes arising from them shall be submitted to the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance.
